Mt. Blinkhorn Fire

1.        Evacuation ALERT only issued for residents on south side of Lindholm and north side of Kangaroo. Search and Rescue crews will  be doing door-to-door notifications in the affected area throughout the night.

2.       Fire crews are on site throughout the night monitoring conditions.

3.        Full fire operations have been suspended until 8 a.m.  At 8 a.m. full fire operations will resume which includes:  fire crews, forestry crews and air support.

4.         Residents are advised to call 911 if there is imminent danger and on-site crews will be alerted

5.        For general information residents are advised to call 250 474 3167, to speak to the Metchosin Emergency Operations Centre, which will be open all night.

6.        Residents are advised that throughout the night crews may be entering their property checking the fire perimeter.

7.       If conditions change that may require an evacuation, affected residents will be informed.
